2003 Norwalk FAD/F.A.S.T. Race

We had an abbreviated field at Norwalk for our second FAST race of 2003. But we still had a GREAT time with new record qualifying times!

The F.A.S.T/FAD Division was split into two groups. There was a "FASTest4" comprised of the 4 quickest qualifiers running a 2 out of 3 Shootout with the two Shootout winners facing each other in a one run for the marbles final race! The rest of the F.A.S.T. group were matched up in a 2 out of 3 Shootout format against their closest matched qualifier. Even though Dave Dudek was the fastest qualifier, he suffered mechanical problems and was unable to make the rounds. Also of SPECIAL INTEREST, there were no new 11 second cars, as we were paying a bounty of $200 for any new 11 second qualifying times. However, we did have a Fastest Small Block with Jeff Patterson's 340 Duster running a 12.07 @ 114.1!! Jeff won the cash prize for Fastest Small Block, and almost won the double header by almost breaking into the 11's! Remember, this racing is done on bias-ply reproduction tires!!!!
