RACING FORMAT

Eliminations Ladder Format

The reason behind compiling the F.A.S.T. racing format rules is to establish a consistent format for all of the F.A.S.T. races to follow.    The F.A.S.T. Rules committee will resolve any disputes that may arise regarding the F.A.S.T. racing format.  All decisions are final.  The F.A.S.T. rules committee reserves the right to change or modify the series format at any time without notice.

QUALIFYING
Two qualifying sessions will be held and these two runs will determine the qualifying order.  The fastest 8 cars will be qualified for the F.A.S.T. 8 Eliminator Series.  Qualifiers #9 and up will be run in the Best of 3 Shootout.

 LADDER
F.A.S.T. Quick-8: The #1 qualifier will race the #8 qualifier.  #2 will race #7, and so on.
Click HERE to see Quick-8 Ladder format.
The ladder will not be modified after firstt round.  If your opponent cannot make next round, you will receive a bye.

BEST OF 3 SHOOTOUT:  The #9 Qualifier will race the #10 qualifier; #11 will race #12 and so on.  If your opponent cannot make next round, you will receive a bye.

ELIMINATIONS
F.A.S.T. Quick-8: Heads-up and run off a .500 pro tree. It is the racers responsibility to be in the staging lanes ready to race. Lane choice is awarded to the car with the quicker ET in the previous round.

BEST OF 3 SHOOTOUT: Heads-up and run off a .500 pro tree. It is the racers responsibility to be in the staging lanes ready to race. First round lane choice is awarded to the car with the quicker qualifying ET. Racers must alternate lanes in all subsequent rounds.

BYE RUNS
This will not be an issue if there are adequate cars to go with the Quick-8 and Best of 3 shootout format.  But,  If needed, 1st round bye will be awarded to the low qualifier.
If needed, all subsequent bye runs will be awarded to the previous rounds low ET.
Note: Racer can only receive 1 bye run per event.  Bye run can be refused by racer, retaining bye eligibility in later rounds, in this case the 2nd low ET would be awarded bye.

CONDUCT OF PARTICIPANTS
It is the responsibility of each participant and their crewmembers to conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike manner. Any inappropriate conduct directed towards fellow participants, spectators, or event officials deemed un-sportsmanlike by the F.A.S.T. rules committee is grounds for expulsion from the event and forfeiture of any entry fee paid and prizes won.

TECH PROCEDURE
All cars will be teched in with the hood, doors and trunk open and the air filter assembly off via a visual inspection. The underside of the vehicle will be inspected for safety and rules compliance. Blocks will be checked for correct appearance. Casting #s of the manifolds and heads will be checked to the extent possible with out any disassembly. A valve cover bolt or similar bolt may be removed to check for correct head material. Head casting # s may be checked via valve cover removal at any time during the event, at the discretion of the tech officials. Any car that runs 11.50 or quicker any time during the event will be subject to a mandatory casting # and material check of the heads via valve cover removal.  Voluntary valve cover removal during initial tech-in for such cars is optional to avoid it later.

PROTEST PROCEDURE
There is no provision for protest or tear down by racers. Any concerns  brought to attention of the rules committee within 2 weeks after the event will be  investigated prior to the next event. Anyone expressing concern over the legality of another car must provide credible documentation to support their position.
All decisions made by the F.A.S.T. Rules committee are final.

CASTING DEVIATIONS
If you need an approval for replacement  casting (other than the correct head) it MUST be pre-approved by the F.A.S.T. rules committee.  If approved you will receive a letter signed F.A.S.T. RULES  COMMITTEE".  Note: Individual F.A.S.T. rules committee members can not approve any deviations to the rules.  All casting substitutions or other rulings are only valid if approved by the F.A.S.T. rules committee and must be signed "F.A.S.T.
